Central Asia Should Not Be Turned Into Hot Spot--Kazakh President

Central Asia should not be turned into a hot spot by terrorists, said president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev speaking at the 8th session of the Assembly of the Peoples of Kazakhstan (consultative-deliberative body under the head of state) on Wednesday. According to him, Kazakhstan pursues the right policy based on that any form of terrorism should be cut short. That is why the country supports the international coalition in combating terrorism. Nazarbayev pointed out that international terrorists and their patrons in Afghanistan had been given an opportunity not to draw the Afghan people in the current events. However, the leaders of international terrorists use, to achieve their goals, defenceless people who are, above all, suffering from military operations. In this situation, it is important to distinguish between the Afghan people and international terrorists, stressed the president of Kazakhstan. He also said that political stability should be maintained in the Central Asian region. Nazarbayev expressed hope that the peoples of Central Asia will preserve calmness when solving the current problems and will not yield to emotions in connection with the situation around Afghanistan.
