NATO Liaison Mission To Open Soon In Moscow

A military NATO liaison mission will shortly be opened in Moscow, an informed source in the Russian capital told RIA Novosti. According to the source, talks to this effect are close to completion, and the matter "can be considered as decided". Discussions are now focused on organisational technicalities - the status of the mission, its immunity, accreditation, and personnel. The source emphasised that the mission will not be patterned after a permanent NATO delegation and is designed to keep in contact with the Russian Defence Ministry and other departments.
