Russian Interior Ministry Delegates to Attend Celebrations of 86th Anniversary of Belarussian Police

A delegation of the Russian Interior Ministry will take part in the celebrations to mark the 86th anniversary of the Belarussian police, to be held in Minsk on March 4-5.

As RIA Novosti was told in the information and public relations department of the Belarussian Interior Ministry, the Russian delegation will be headed by Interior Minister Boris Gryzlov.

The head of the Russian Interior Ministry will honour the memory of the staffers of the Interior bodies of Belarus who perished in peacetime, lay flowers to the memorial on the embankment of the Svisloch river, and visit the museum of the Republican Interior Ministry to which he will hand over a souvenir exhibit.

On Tuesday night, the guests will be invited to the Palace of the Republic in the centre of Minsk where a gala concert with the participation of the Belarussian and Russian pop stars will be held.

It is expected that an official meeting between the Russian Interior Minister and his Belarussian counterpart Vladimir Naumov to highlight a wide range of current issues will take place on Wednesday. Gryzlov will hold consultations with members of the working group of the Russian-Belarussian commission for drafting the constitutional act of the Union State. Then the heads of the law-enforcement departments will lead the teams of veterans of the Interior Ministries of the two countries onto the football field of the Indoor Stadium. Their friendly game will be the finale of the festival of the Belarussian police.

Representatives of the Interior Ministries of the neighbouring states - Poland, Ukraine, Latvia and Lithuania - will also participate in the festivities.
