A delegation of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, headed by its president, Yevgeny Primakov, began a tour of Middle Eastern countries on Friday, January 17. According to the Chamber's public relations department, the delegation is visiting Saudi Arabia between January 18 and 22, the UAE between January 23 and 25, and Oman between January 25 and 26.
The delegation is planning to take part in the Jeddah 2003 international economic forum in Saudi Arabia and hold talks with representatives of Saudi organisations. Primakov will also meet with Crown Prince Abdullah while in Saudi Arabia. The Russian delegation is also taking part in the 'Russia - Persian Gulf Cooperation Council' business forum, and will visit the headquarters of the Saudi Aramco oil company and meet its management.
In Abu Dhabi (UAE) Primakov will meet the country's foreign ministry and hold talks with the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry's leadership. In Oman he will meet the country's economics minister, Chamber of Commerce and Industry president, and representatives of business circles.
