Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky must make a responsible decision on resolving the conflict with Russia, because soon it will be too late, official Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.
According to Peskov, the effective performance of the Russian Armed Forces should convince Zelensky that he must negotiate, and that he should do so now. He added that the Ukrainian leader’s room for independent decision-making continues to shrink as Ukraine loses more territory.
“This is precisely the effort to pressure Zelensky and his regime toward a peaceful resolution. Their continuation of hostilities is pointless and dangerous for them,” Peskov said.
Ukraine and Europe continue working on the peace plan developed by the US administration, Volodymyr Zelensky said.
“We are working on the document prepared by the United States,” he said.
The document contains twenty-eight points. Among its conditions are Kyiv’s rejection of NATO membership and recognition of Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk as Russian territory. Zelensky officially received the US peace plan on November 20 and noted that he intends to discuss it with US president Donald Trump.
On November 21, Zelensky held phone calls with French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The main purpose was to discuss the peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump.
The secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) and former defense minister Rustem Umerov revealed details of his negotiations with US Assistant Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll.
According to Umerov, Kyiv and Washington discussed the framework for the next steps in resolving the conflict. Ukrainian negotiators “carefully examine every proposal” in the peace plan put forward by American president Donald Trump.
He added that Ukraine’s delegation included the head of military intelligence Kyrylo Budanov and the chief of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Andrey Gnatov.
The United States intensified pressure on Ukraine regarding the peace plan, threatening to withhold intelligence and arms supplies if Kyiv refuses to approve the document, Reuters said citing sources.
“Ukraine faces stronger pressure from the United States, which demands Kyiv’s approval of a US-brokered framework peace agreement with Russia, including threats to halt intelligence sharing and weapons deliveries,” the report noted.
The US insists that “Ukrainian authorities sign the document by November 27.”
