Chief of Finnish Frontier Department to visit Moscow this week

A delegation of the Finnish Frontier Department headed by LieutenantGeneral Hannu Ahonen, Chief of the Frontier Guard, will visit Russia in theperiod from August 14 to 17 on the invitation of Colonel General KonstantinTostky, Director of the Russian Federal Border Service, the press serviceof the Federal Border Service reported. Ahonen and Totsky will meet inMoscow and discuss questions concerning the situation and perspectives ofRussian-Finish frontier cooperation. The parties will also exchangeinformation about the situation on the border.It is expected that the delegations will share their opinions about thestruggle with the international terrorism, illegal drug trafficking,illegal migration on the Russian-Finnish border, which length is 1325.8kilometers, as well as within the framework of the trilateral (Russia,Finland and Estonia) cooperation and multilateral regional cooperation ofthe Baltic Sea states. The Finnish delegation is to visit border regimentsof the North-Western regional department of the Russian Border Service. .
