Wearing the wrong clothing at night can negatively affect your sleep during the summer. This warning comes from Dr. Álvaro Fernández, who spoke with the Spanish publication Vanitatis.
“In hot weather, you should sleep in clothing made from breathable fabrics because they help wick away sweat and support evaporation,” Fernández explained.
The doctor specifically recommended cotton as one of the best options for summer pajamas. He added that good fabric absorbs part of the body’s heat and helps disperse it, keeping the skin cool throughout the night.
“It’s better to visit a store once and buy the right pajamas than to keep waking up every night to change your sheets,” Fernández noted.
Ultimately, sleeping in proper clothing is healthier than sleeping naked — even if it feels uncomfortable at first, the sleep quality benefits are worth it, he concluded.
