Russian diplomats note need of flexible price policy to promote Russian weapons

Official guests of the Nizhny Tagil 2004 exhibition, Russian Ambassadors to Myanmar, the Philippines, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, have noted the need to adopt a more flexible price policy to promote Russian weapons on the global markets.

"Prices should be more flexible, if we want to successfully promote Russian weapons on the global markets," said Russia's Ambassador to Myanmar Oleg Kabanov.

According to him, Myanmar is definitely interested in Russian weapons, but "Ukraine outbargains everything with is low prices".

Ambassador to the Philippines Anatoly Nebogatov noted that the country was "ready to accept Russia as a supplier of weapons to fight against terrorism". "This will happen in the next few years," he said.

Tajikistan and Uzbekistan also hope for regional cooperation.

Russia's Ambassador to Uzbekistan Farit Mukhametshin and Ambassador to Tajikistan Maksim Peshkov believe that their acquaintance with the best examples of Russian military equipment, establishment of business contacts with producers at the exhibition will help signing contracts in the future.

The diplomats gave a high assessment to the Nizhny Tagil exhibition. Anatoly Nebogatov has worked in East Asia for 19 years and has visited "all weapons exhibitions held in the region during that time". Comparing the Russian exhibition with those in Singapore and Malaysia, he said that "ours is in no way inferior to them and fully deserves its international status".
