Kasyanov leads active public life but does not disclose future plans

Russian ex-premier Mikhail Kasyanov leads active public life but does not disclose his future plans, his press secretary Tatiana Razbash told journalists.

"Mikhail Kasyanov follows social-economic developments very carefully," she said refusing to comment on his future plans.

"You will learn everything in due time," the press secretary noted.

In her words, in May Mr. Kasyanov paid a three-day visit to Stockholm on an invitation from Swedish Prime Minister Goran Persson.

Mikhail Kasyanov met with the premier, cabinet members and parliament heads and took part in a mini-seminar on Russia's political and economic development. After that, the Russian ex-premier visited Helsinki at an invitation from Finnish former prime minister Paavo Lipponen, speaker of the Finnish parliament.

After his dismissal Mikhail Kasyanov vacationed in France and Italy with his wife.

According to Tatiana Razbash, the ex-premier leads an active cultural life. He is likely to go to Portugal to support the Russian national team during EURO-2004.

The dismissal of the government in late February was unexpected for Mikhail Kasyanov, however, it meant no tragedy to him. "The contract, which Vladimir Putin and I made in January 2000 is completely fulfilled," he said.
