Family is women's top concern, 78% of Russians say

A majority of Russians believe family (78%) is the most important concern of women, while 63% believe it is children, ROMIR Monitoring has found in a February poll taken in 111 Russian cities and villages and involving 1,500 respondents. Another 44% rated love as women's top value. Some 17% chose money, 12% opted for success in a career and 11% called beauty the top concern of women. Brains, equality with men and sex each came up as the choice of less than 10% of those responding.

The poll also found that a majority (67%) believe that husbands and wives should be equally ready to defer to the other in marriage. Some 22% said wives should defer to their husbands, and 9% said husbands should defer to wives.
