Portuguese builders to appear in Moscow?

Portuguese building companies are ready to participate as investors and contractors in building houses and other objects in Moscow, First Deputy Mayor in the Moscow government, head of the city's building complex Vladimir Resin told a RIA Novosti correspondent in Lisbon.

Resin heads the delegation of Russian businessmen, builders and design engineers, who came to Portugal "with definite proposals," he said.

At present the capacities of many Portuguese building companies are underused, yet in Moscow it is the other way round. "We have a building boom, and construction volumes are growing every year. Today the dwelling space has amounted to almost 5 million square metres," Resin pointed out.

In compliance with the general plan of Moscow's development till 2020 the Portuguese could build houses, social and cultural facilities, bridges, tunnels and roads, he believes.

The Moscow delegation held talks with the Portuguese Builders' Union and Lisbon Deputy Mayor. They agreed that a Portuguese delegation would come to the Russian capital with a return visit, Resin added.
