Russian tennis players suffer first defeat in us tournament

The Russian girls playing at the tennis tournament in Charleston (South Carolina, United States) have started their performance unsuccessfully. It was already in the first round that Anastasia Myskina lost to Bianka Lamade from Germany. Myskina lost her first set 3:6, while in the second set the score was 3:5, after that she quitted her performance in the tournament because of a trauma. Traumas have also been the cause of non-participation of Elena Dementyeva and Anna Kournikova, Russia's two best tennis players, in the tournament in Charleston, with the prize fund amounting to USD 1,080,000. On Tuesday, Elena Likhovtseva, Nadezhda Petrova and Tatyana Panova will have their first matches.
