Moscow sees the statements made by U.S. Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld and his deputy Paul Wolfowitz about Russia in an interview with the Sunday Telegraph as "openly confrontational." Russia "again is labelled almost the main distributor of weapons of mass destruction, and this is done without any grounds," a Russian Foreign Ministry release reads. "The purpose of these false Cold War-inspired accusations becomes clear when these two prominent military theorists start driving at the necessity of creating the U.S. NMD system," Interfax cites Russian Foreign Ministry as saying.
