BUSH HURRIES TO THE WHITE HOUSE

After vote recounting in Florida it has turned out that Republican George W. Bush has the lead over Democrat Albert Gore of as little as 960 votes. Although vote counting is still in progress, this fact does not prevent Mr. Bush from forming a new administration. He told journalists about that in Austin, Texas, where his electoral headquarters is situated. “By November 17th or any other date when the election’s final results are announced, we will be completely ready to assume necessary responsibilities and get down to business,” Mr. Bush emphasized. While Mr. Gore expresses his discontent over this hurriedness, his rivals are mulling to review the election’s results in the states of Oregon, Iowa, and Wisconsin where the vice president has won with the lead of less than 5,000 votes in each. The epidemic of vote counting is affecting more and more of the “disunited States of America,” as one journalist puts it.
