SOME OF THE KURSK CREW DIED SLOWLY

One of four bodies recovered from the Kursk submarine has been identified as lieutenant-captain Kolesnikov’s. In his pocket, a note has been found which reads as follows. “13:15. All the personnel has switched from 6th, 7th, and 8th compartments to the 9th. We are 23 here. We have taken this decision as a result of the crash. None of us can go upstairs.” The note ends with the illegible “13,5 … I and writing by feeling.” At present the work in 7th and 8th compartments is stopped. The divers are only conducting search in 9th compartment where, according to the note, 23 people were stranded, ITAR-TASS reports.
