Guantanamo Bay Naval Station to be closed soon. The US sets free the captive Taliban

One of Soviet cinema character used to say: “The East is a delicate thing.” Neither the US leading the fight on terrorism, nor Israel which should grasp Arab affairs, have understood Muslim mentality. This is for what they have to pay now. September 28, 2000 Ariel Sharon, who was opposing Ehud Barak at that time, came to Temple Hill in Jerusalem, which is sacred place both for Palestinians and Jews. Palestinians could neglect this fact, so blood sward of war started to act. The US also demonstrated it did not understand eastern specificity when they provoked a prisoners’ revolt in Guantanamo Bay Naval Station. This happened after one of the prisoners, from security reasons, was forced to take off his turban, while prying. A worse offence for a Muslim could not be invented. Human rights organizations did not fail to use this case and accused the US of discrimination. Washington, tired of criticism against it, decided to listen to the world community’s opinion. One of these days, chief of the camp in Guantanamo, general Michel Lenert said that captive militants of Al Qaeda and the Taliban, who had not committed grave crimes, could be set free from the confinement in Guantanamo Bay Naval Station. Though, according to the general, to be set free, the imprisonment should tell only the truth at the interrogations. “Only in this case that, who have not committed grave crimes could return home,” – Lenert stressed in his address to the captives. General Lenert admitted that the captives were mainly concerned with their further fate, on what US authorities had not taken any decision yet.
