Last night, a violent ocean storm cyclone with strong wind hit the southern part of the Kamchatka Peninsula in the Russian Far East. A RIA Novosti correspondent reports that a day before, the Kamchatka authorities issued a storm warning, which was delivered to all ships. Some of the vessels managed to hide in the harbours. The waves in high seas, according to the Kamchatka Regional Fleet Monitoring Service, are over the force of six. All rescue services in the area have been placed on high alert. Classes in schools have been cancelled. The Kamchatka Weather Service reports that last night over 30 millimetres of precipitations were registered in the south of the peninsula. The storm was accompanied by hurricane moving at the speed of up to 30 meters per second. Weather forecasters say that the last night's Pacific Ocean cyclone hit the north of the Kuril Islands, too. The precipitations in the north of the island were 30 millimetres last night.
