Moscow Mayor Proposes Special Measures To Fight Extremist Groups In The City

To successfully fight extremist groupings in the city, Moscow mayor considers it necessary to introduce "agents into their ranks." This is what the Moscow mayor said on Wednesday in connection with the recent rampage by fascist youngsters who staged a pogrom at the market in the Moscow district of Tsaritsino. As a result of the nationalist action, three people, who were not Russian by nationality, died. As Luzhkov admitted, the manifestation of chauvinism and nationalism is "a serious problem" for Moscow today. According to him, the agent's work is necessary "to work in order to prevent extremist actions rather than to liquidate their consequences." But if extremist actions occurred after all, it is necessary to "react quickly and toughly to eliminate these manifestation in their embryo," the Moscow mayor stressed. After the tragic events in Tsaritsino, the Moscow militia has been placed on enhanced alert.
