Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent his greetings to participants in the 2nd Congress of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia. The presidential press service said that the greeting read in part: "The congress is inspired by the idea of restoration of ethnic and religious traditions in the country. Your organisation carries out active work on educating the Russian Jews about eternal spiritual values and contributes to comprehensive and dynamic development of the Jewish community and Russian society at large." "Today it is especially urgent to unite efforts of the state and all constructive forces in society to oppose the global terrorism and extremism threat. All manifestations of anti-Semitism should be countered most decisively as well," the Russian leader stressed.
