Symposium On Investments In South Of Russia To Be Held In Moscow On December 5-7

An international investment symposium 'Investment Potential of the South of Russia' will be held in Moscow from December 5 to 7, 2001, the organizational committee of the symposium reported to RBC. Priority topics of this meeting will be the Russian agricultural industry, the construction industry, the fuel and energy industry, transport, medicine and tourism. Some Russian top officials are expected to take part in this event. They are, in particular, Finance Minister Alexey Kudrin, Economy Minister German Gref, Tax Minister Gennady Bukayev, Central Bank deputy chairman Tatyana Paramonova and others. In addition, representatives of 350 enterprises located in the south of Russia will take part in the symposium as well as representatives of the IMF, the World Bank and the EBRD. Among participants of the symposium there will be representatives of the MDM Group, Yukos and LUKoil oil companies, Deutsche Bank, Siemens, Philip Morris and many others. This symposium was initiated by the staff of the presidential envoy in the Southern Federal District of Russia, the Russian Trade and Industrial Chamber and the National Agency of Direct Investments.
