The Russian Audit Chamber has no claims against the diamond giant ALROSA after an inspection of the reconstruction work in Yakutia, Audit Chamber chairman Sergey Stepashin announced in an interview today. He explained that ALROSA received no assets from the federal budget. Meanwhile, the Audit Chamber has a lot of questions to the government of Yakutia that acted as a principle for reconstruction operations in the flooded Siberian republic. Stepashin announced that about 500 million rubles, which were earmarked for Yakutia, were frozen on accounts in the Finance Ministry. These assets will be allocated to Yakutia only after Yakut authorities present documents that will prove task expenditures of budget assets. In addition, Stepashin stressed that actions of the Audit Chamber in Yakutia should not be regarded as politically motivated. He stressed that this inspection was planned three months ago and it was agreed upon with the Russian President and the State Duma.
