AvtoVAZ Steps Up Sales Of Luxury Versions Of Its Cars

The sales volume of the AvtoVAZ' luxury version-producing subsidiary Super-Avto increased from 400 cars in 2000 to 700 this year. According to Super-Avto director Mikhail Tupayev, his company is planning to manufacture 1,000 cars in the upcoming year. He links the sales growth to an increasing demand for elite cars. Additionally, the factory is working on a pilot batch of 1.8-liter engines with 107 horsepower. Tupayev forecasts a hike in the sales of VAZ-21108 Premier outfitted with new engines. Presently, eight prototype models are undergoing testing. Super-Avto is hatching one more project aimed at the development of the VAZ limo, which will be made to order.
