Transneft presents new export projects at APEC forum

The Russian oil transporting company Transneft has presented its projectson exports of Russian oil to countries in the Asian-Pacific region. Theprojects were presented at the investment fair within the APEC(Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) summit in Vladivostok today, thecompany's press service reported. Transneft is going to export up to 50million tons of oil produced in Russia to these countries. To implementthis project, the company is planning to construct a pipeline with a totallength of about 3,885 kilometers, 22 oil-pumping terminals, oil storagetanks with a capacity of 2.735 million cubic meters and other facilities.Transneft is also taking part in the oil pipeline project with a capacityof 20-30 million tons of oil a year from the Russian town of Angarsk toChina. The total length of this pipeline is 2,213 kilometers, including1,452 kilometers in Russia. The investment feasibility analysis of thisproject was completed in July 2002..
