French police have arrested three Chechens suspected of preparing acts of terrorism in Russia, an anti-terrorist prosecutor's magistrate said of Friday.
The arrests followed the detention by Russia's security service of a Chechen man suspected of involvement in bomb attacks that killed 40 people in the Moscow metro on March 29, Reuters says.
Arrests last week in the Sarthe area of western France came after a tip-off from Russian authorities. No details have been released about the suspects' identities or ages. A fourth man was released in the French investigation.
Those charged are accused of having links with a man arrested in Russia on terrorism charges, BBC News informs.
