The Shiite Opposition of Iraq Did Not Receive Order to Return Home

The Shiite opposition of Iraq refuted the reports, that at the present time the Badr armed units were crossing the Iranian-Iraqi border and returning to Iraq.

As it has been reported by the press secretary of the Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution of Iraq /SCIRI/ Najafi Abuislam "at the present time the remaining members of our party and the Badr armed units, altogether from 35,000 to 40,000 people, are waiting and do not cross the Iranian-Iraqi border." At the same time Najafi Abuislam confirmed that the Badr main forces were already on the territory of Iraq - 10,000 servicemen are in the south of Iraq and 5,000 - in Soleimaniya.

Apart from that, according to the SCIRI press secretary, "the Shiite opposition intends to attract to its ranks the young generation of Iraqi citizens with the aim of ensuring security and establishing law and order." As was pointed out by Najafi Abuislam, the leader of the Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution of Iraq, Mohammad Baqir al-Hakim, will return to Iraq as soon as opportunity arises.
