10 Bodies Of Il-76 Crash Victims Found

A group of rescuers headed by deputy Emergencies Minister Gennady Korotkin has discovered 10 bodies of victims of the Il-76 jet crash in the Khabarovsk region before suspending rescue works until Tuesday morning. The area of the crash is cordoned off by police. Earlier, two flight recorders were found among the wreckage and conveyed to a local frontier post. The Il-76 jet belonging to the Russian Federal Border Service crashed outside the village of Inya 1-2 km east of Okhotsk, a port on the Sea of Okhotsk, Khabarovsk region, on Sunday while on its way from Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport to Anadyr, the capital of the Chukotka Autonomous Area, Northern Russia with a stopover at Bratsk, Western Subbaikalia. The jet was loaded with food and construction materials. All 18 passengers and 8 crew on board are feared dead. Shortly before the crash, when the aircraft was at an altitude of 9,600 meters, the captain of the crew reported that there was a fire on board.
