$500 for a baby

Three doctors were arrested in the Ukrainian town of Makeevka while attempting to sell a newborn for $500 USD.

Office of the Public Prosecutor of the Donetsk region brought an action against head of the labour department of the Makeevskaya hospital №2, assistant head physician and chief of the newborn department. Their names are not to be disclosed.

While being involved in a conspiracy, the doctors kept the news of a birth of a healthy baby to themselves. They did not register the baby either. All three of them intended to sell the newborn, reported in the Office of the Public Prosecutor.

Soon afterward, the baby was officially registered under a woman who had been admitted to the hospital with fake documents. The criminals were awarded $500 USD for their “trick”. This is an on-going investigation.
