Polish prime minister: no CIA flights in Poland

Swiss Senator Dick Marty, the head of a European investigation into alleged CIA secret prisons, said in a report that an airport in Poland was likely used as a prisoner drop-off point. "This is slander and it's not based on any facts," – so Poland's prime minister Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz comments allegations, that CIA planes ever landed in Poland to stop or drop of prisoners.

Marty also said that Romania was part of what he called a "renditions circuit" and was used as a stopover by CIA-linked planes and that several other countries colluded with what he called the CIA's "questionable activities."

Allegations that CIA agents shipped prisoners through European airports to secret detention centers, including compounds in Eastern Europe , were first reported in November by The Washington Post. Human Rights Watch later identified air bases in Poland and Romania as possible locations of the alleged secret prisons, but both countries have denied involvement.

Polish officials have always denied that Poland ever hosted any CIA prisons. But former President Aleksander Kwasniewski admitted he heard of a few cases of secret landings by CIA planes in Poland and deemed it "natural" in the global fight against terrorism, reports the AP.
