Mi-8 helicopter with 12 on board lost in Siberia

Rescuers resumed search operations for the missing Mi-8 helicopter in the Tuva republic. The search had been previously suspended, officials said.

The helicopter disappeared on October 10, at 06:18 MSK.

More than 360 people are involved in the search operations - both ground groups and aviation. During the last three days, rescuers have searched the territory of  20,377 square meters. No traces of the crew have been detected.

Prime Minister of the Tuva Republic, Sholban Kara-Ool, introduced a state of emergency in the region in connection with the disappearance of the Mi-8 helicopter. The contact with the Mi-8 of Tuva Airlines was lost on Friday, October 10. There were 12 people on board. According to officials, the flight was being conducted to take aerial photographs of the territory.
