Cis Secret Services Heads For All States' Joint Efforts To Combat Terrorism

Combat against terrorism must be resolute, made up of not solely power methods, but also of coordinated, long-term global measures undertaken by all states and sanctioned by the UN Security Council, reads the statement of the 11th session of the CIS Heads of Security and Secret Services adopted Tuesday. The document also stresses that the terrorist assault against the United States testifies to the fact that all civilized countries have a common enemy - strong, crafty, and cruel - international terrorism, which is beyond borders and national belonging, no matter how it disguises itself - employing religious, ideological, or other means. Russian Federal Security Service Director Nikolai Patrushev said to journalists after the session that "the problem of terrorism is a global problem and combat against it is a task for the whole international community". According to Patrushev, Russia should help the US in its struggle against international terrorism. However, in his opinion, it must be first of all information and humanitarian aid. CIS armies' regular units and other power structures will not participate in the US retaliation action, he said.
