Mobile Phone for Dogs Designed

A special technology that allows dogs to communicate with their masters by a mobile phone has been developed in Japan
A consortium of companies comprising Mathushita Electric, the electrotechnical giant, and the Takara toy producer announced it would start tests of a new service this week. Main idea of the new service is as follows: video cameras installed in apartments transmit pictures of domestic pets to mobile phones of their masters. At that, the pictures are supplied with phrases such as "Get back to me soon!" that are translated from dog’s barking into the Japanese language. A special dog language translating device recently designed by Takara is used at that, Russia's news agency ITAR-TASS reports. The designers say that the tiny device is fixed on a pet's neck; it discerns emotions of the pet precisely and transforms them into the human language. 

One of the designers says that the dog interpreting device may even pronounce phrases like "I cannot stand it", "I am bored!" and "I feel lonely, play with me please". 

The man says the new device gives an opportunity to communicate with domestic pets that are certainly a part of our own life. The cost of the unusual service is not yet reported. However, it is expected that the service will be in great demand. According to preliminary estimates, the demand for the dog interpreting device may make up $8.5 billion.

The dog translator has already won love of the Japanese, although the device was given an Ig Nobel Prize as one of the most useless achievements. The prize is awarded in Harvard's Sanders Theatre every year on the eve of awarding the Noble Prizes. Every Ig Nobel Prize winner has done something that first makes people LAUGH, then makes them THINK. Technically speaking, the Igs honor people whose achievements "cannot or should not be reproduced."
