What's the deal with taxes?

Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs does not possess any “black lists” of the banks that are suspected in financial fraud.

This has been reported during a briefing Monday by vice minister, head of the Federal service of economics and tax crimes of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant-General Sergey Verevkin-Rakalsky.

“The Ministry does not possess any of such lists. Let me repeat one more time, there are no lists and no banks are being persecuted,” stated Verevkin-Rakalskin. At the same time he noted that quite a few companies do not pay taxes, reports RIA “Novosti.”

However, head of the budget Committee of the Federation Council Evgeny Bushmin confirmed the existence of such list in his interview to radio “Echo of Moscow”.
 
If Russia’s Central Bank completely ignores such factor, Russia could   end up on the verge of another financial crises, which in this case will be triggered by the Central Bank itself, writes “Nezavisimaya gazeta” (“Independent newspaper”).

According to an earlier report by PRAVDA.Ru regarding last week's bank “panic”, first vice chairman of the Central Bank Andrei Kozlov assured bankers that there existed “no fundamental economic reasons for the Russia's Bank to worry about,” reports RBC.

Past Friday many banks began closing credit limits. Experts regarded the event as “panic”.
 
Bankers remain in a state of shock after the recent story of “SodBusinessBank” and “Credittrust”. (“SodBusinessbank” announced self-termination due to the crises of liquidity, which happened after it was denied trust by other banks and investors: they withdrew nearly 200 million rubles in a few days. Bankers and common people suspected a tie between “CreditTrust” and “SodBusinessBank”).

Banks became suspicious of each other, figuring out which one of them will be “attacked” by the Central Bank and Federal service of economic and tax crimes. Words of head of the Federal service Victor Zubkov regarding the fact that about a dozen banks are next in turn, made bankers to believe in the existence of some sort of a “black list”, reports “Oreanda."
