A suicide car bomb blew up near a convoy of foreign military vehicles in the southern city of Kandahar on Thursday, killing the attacker and wounding six Afghan passers-by, police and witnesses said.
One of the wounded, Mohammed Ibraham, said he saw a car blow up near a convoy of vehicles belonging to the U.S.-led coalition, which is responsible for security in southern Afghanistan. None of the military vehicles was damaged and the convoy did not stop, he said.
Two police officers at the scene said six civilians were wounded. Both spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to the media, reports the AP.
