A rubber raft carrying seven people down a slope at a Croatian ski resort went out of control and crashed into parked cars, killing one man and seriously injuring two other people, police said Monday.
In the snow rafting accident Saturday, the rubber boat gained uncontrollable speed on an icy ski slope, flew over a road and crashed into the cars at the Begovo Razdolje resort in central Croatia, police said.
A 47-year-old man died of his injuries, two more people were seriously injured and four were uninjured, said regional police spokeswoman Mirjana Kulas.
In snow-rafting, a popular new sport in Croatia, people use the rubber, paddle-operated boats that are used for river rafting, which is very popular in Croatia, reports the AP.
