Veteran broadcaster Sir David Frost will host a new politics show for Independent Television from January, officials said Monday.
"Frost Tonight" on ITV London will cover current affairs and politics in London, and feature in-depth interviews with London's major political decision-makers.
Airing on Thursday nights, the studio-based show will be made by Frost's production company Paradine Productions.
"With the (2012) Olympics on their way, there has never been a more exciting time to do a series focusing on London and what matters to Londoners," Frost said in a statement. "I can't wait for it to start."
The new series will be screened in January and September 2006 to coincide with parliamentary sessions and political party conferences.
Frost's interview shows have long attracted world leaders. He notched 500 editions of the British Broadcasting Corp.'s Sunday morning "Breakfast with Frost" program before bowing out earlier this year.
In the spring, he will make his first appearance on Al-Jazeera International, the English-language channel of the popular Arab satellite broadcaster, AP reported. V.A.
