A cave-in at a mine in northern China killed 18 workers and trapped 22 others, the official Xinhua News Agency reported Monday.
The mine collapse occurred Sunday evening in Xingpai, a county in Hebei province, which is near Beijing, the agency said. The cause was under investigation.
The mine produces stone used to make plaster, the report said, without giving any other details. Plaster is made using lime or gypsum, plus sand and water, AP reports.
