A passenger bus veered out of control and plunged down a mountain road Thursday, killing at least 22 people and injuring 17 others, police said.
The bus was enroute from Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu-Kashmir, to the remote town of Sangaldan, the AP reports.
It crashed at Tattapani, some 165 kilometers north of Jammu, the state's winter capital, the duty officer at the local police control room said. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to the media. AM
