Timberlake faithful to Cameron Diaz

Justin Timberlake accepted an apology from the British tabloid, News of the World, Wednesday over a 2004 story that had accused the singer of cheating on his girlfriend, Cameron Diaz, with model, Lucy Clarkson.

A lawyer for Clarkson admitted the model had lied about her relationship with Timberlake and that the story was “an entire fabrication on her part.”

The tabloid's lawyer accepted the fact that the story was entirely “without foundation.” Both parties agreed to pay Timberlake a monetary fine. Clarkson agreed to pay the amount she was originally paid by the paper for her story and the paper paid “a substantial undisclosed sum,” according to Boston Herald.

Timberlake decided not to pursue his case against either party after the agreement was reached and a publicist for Timberlake said that he would donate the money he received to charity.

Last month Diaz won a libel suit against rival tabloid, London's Sun, for a story it published saying that the “Charlie's Angels” star had cheated on Timberlake with a married man.
