Ryder Cup: The Europeans are winning big

A Tiger Woods-led charge by America, attempting to pull off the biggest comeback in Ryder Cup history, was brought to a shuddering halt on Sunday as Europe fought back.

Despite Woods running out to an easy 3 and 2 victory against English rookie Paul Casey, the scoreboard was full of blue as Europe led in seven of their 12 singles.

Playing in the second match of the day, Sergio Garcia pulled off a stunning victory over Phil Mickelson 3 and 2.

The 24-year-old Spaniard found himself two down after eight holes, but suddenly fired off three straight birdies to silence the US &to=http://' target=_blank>fans and move one-up. Another victory at the 13th and Garcia was two up, says Channel News Asia.

The Europeans are not only winning, they are winning big.

The only thing left to decide was the size of their margin, and they had a chance for their biggest rout ever.
