US businessman and philanthropist George Soros was attacked today at the Rus hotel in Kiev where he was attending a forum entitled Citizen's Rights in Elections. Ukrainian police report that an unidentified man yelled 'Let Brotherhood Reign' and proceeded to pour glue on Soros and tried to run away before police detained him. A few minutes later another man yelled 'Yankee Soros - Go Back Home' and proceeded to shove Soros and pour water on him before police detained him.
Soros told journalists that his positive relations with Ukraine would not change because of the attacks. Nevertheless, he is confident that someone was behind the attacks. After Soros changed his clothes, the forum, which includes 100 Ukrainian civil rights organizations, resumed work.
Russian President Vladimir Putin got the West worried again by signing Decree No. 915. The news did not produce any public effect in Russia
