Hunting season on rare animal species opens for foreigners in Kyrgyzstan

Annual hunting season on rare animal species for foreign citizens started on Monday in Kyrgyzstan.

This year lovers of the mountainous safari are offered increased quotas for hunting on game at the expense of the last year's unused limit, the Kyrgyz State Forest service told RIA Novosti.

Today approximately half a hundred Kyrgyz hunting grounds have the right of providing foreign hunters with game-licenses. Most of foreign hunters come from Russia, EU countries and from neighboring Kazakhstan.

According to specialists of the Kyrgyz Environment Protection department, among the foreign hunters the most popular species of the unique fauna of the high-mountainous Tien Shan are Siberian wild goats, Pamir argali, wild boar and roe.

The cost of the kill of a single wild animal varies from $500 up to $5,000 depending on the rarity of the species.
