In an interview with RIA Novosti on Monday, Abdul Aziz al-Hakim, the head of the Interim Governing Council of Iraq, said Kurds and Shiite Muslims do not have many differences as to the creation of a new constitution for Iraq. He was commenting on media reports that differences ostensibly existed between these Iraqi political forces.
"Not only the Kurds and the Shiites, but all the political and religious forces making up the Interim Governing Council decide on a new constitution for Iraq," he stressed.
Mr. Al-Hakim did not deny the existence of slight disagreements between the different political forces in Iraq. He called them "natural" because the matter is still in discussion.
"Iraq's future constitution is being discussed, which is only the beginning of the process," he noted
