Rosneft intends to become firmly established on foreign markets

A leading oil and gas company of Russia, Rosneft, pays increasing attention to foreign markets linked with supplies of oil and oil products, head of the company's European representative office Alexander Karpushin said at the presentation of Rosneft at Russia's trade mission in the Netherlands held on Monday.

"Today the company is building up its resource base both in the field of oil and in the field of gas, and is deciding questions relating to an increase of the capacities for processing liquid hydrocarbons," the head of the mission said.

He noted that Rosneft is now seeking possibilities to acquire assets, and to obtain necessary resources for implementing its projects both in Russia and abroad.

In case of economic expediency Rosneft's management is ready to consider the possibility of the company's participation in foreign projects, Karpushin said.

In 2003 the Rosneft enterprises will extract 20 million metric tons of oil and more than 7 billion cu m of natural gas, and process 9 million tons of oil.

Over 60 managers of large Dutch companies interested in cooperation with the Russian oil and gas sector attended the presentation.
