Intel director talks of investment plans in Russia

Presidential Plenipotentiary in the Privolzhsk Federal District Sergei Kirienko will meet President and General Director of Intel Paul Otellini today. As a Rosbalt correspondent was informed by Mr Kirienko's press office, they will discuss current issues and possible future transactions relating to the company's activity in Russia and Nizhni Novgorod.

Mr Otellini is expected to tell Mr Kirienko about important technological developments which are currently being made at the laboratory in Nizhni Novgorod. They will also discuss Intel's investment plans for Russia and Nizhni Novgorod and Russia's priorities in the area of science and technology in Nizhni Novgorod.

Intel's laboratory in Nizhni Novgorod is one of the company's largest laboratories in Eastern Europe and opened in Spring 2000. The laboratory employs 450 engineers specialising in computer graphics, multimedia and other areas.
