Russian and Polish Presidents to observe naval manoeuvers of Russian fleets in Baltic Sea

The active phase of the joint naval manoeuvers of the Russian Baltic and Northern fleets will begin today. The Baltic fleet press service told Rosbalt that more than 30 warships and auxiliary ships of the two fleets will leave from the chief naval base of the Baltic fleet at Baltiyska today. The joint naval manuervers will be the largest in the last 20 years and be directed by the Baltic Fleet Commander Admiral Vladimir Valuyev. Over the course of two days, participants from both fleets will have to complete a large complex of military problems with practical shooting and the use of aviation. A two-sided naval battle will take place with the use of firepower in relationship to repelling of rocket strikes, and aviation and torpedo attacks of submarines. They will be observed from the deck of the rocket cruiser Marshal Ustinov by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Polish President Alexander Kvasnevsky.
