The USA insists that the budget of the International Atomic Energy Agency /IAEA/ should be increased to intensify the activity of international inspecting experts, IAEA Deputy Director General Davis Waller stated at the IAEA meeting.
According to the US representative, "the USA becomes increasingly concerned about intensified terrorism in the world as well as attempts of North Korea and Iran to develop their nuclear arsenals".
Nevertheless, the IAEA has no opportunity to increase its budget currently worth of $250 million.
As early as at the current Council meeting the US delegation in the IAEA will make big efforts to increase the IAEA budget in terms of inspectors' activity by $30 million, Waller stressed.
"Financial investment to IAEA inspectors' work is a good investment in our security," he pointed out. The IAEA is a unique organisation, which must be acknowledged as such by all countries. It is responsible for nuclear and environmental security of our planet, Waller stated.
