Helsinki to host session of "Russia in United Europe" Committee

Helsinki will host the second session of the "Russia in United Europe" Committee.

The founder and organizer of the event is the Finnish Centre for economic and political research EVA, set up by the Finnish banking and industrial circles in order to contribute to developing trade and economy.

The committee has invited outstanding political and business figures from Russia, Finland and the EU member states to take part in the session and to speak on relations between the European Union and Russia. After the session it will publish a report with exact recommendations to the leadership of Russia, the EU countries and the European Commission on further rapprochement between Russia and the EU.

The second session's agenda includes such topics as "Threats to European Security" /problems of migration, trans-border crime, fight against terrorism, and environment/, "Movement of people and capital" /visa regime, borders, customs and transport regimes/, as well as "Prospects of economic cooperation between Russia and the EU" /cooperation in border areas, trade and investment in the Baltic region, energy sphere/.
