Russian-Chinese nuclear subcommittee to start work in Beijing

The nuclear subcommittee of the inter-governmental committee for preparing regular meetings of the Russian and Chinese prime ministers will start its work in Beijing on Tuesday, said the Russian nuclear ministry's press service.

"The agenda of the session will include topical issues of bilateral cooperation in peaceful use of nuclear energy, such as constructing the Tian wang nuclear power plant with the Russian participation, cooperation in building a Chinese experimental rapid reactor, beginning the construction of the 4th block of plant for enriching uranium," according to the press service.

Russian nuclear minister, member of the Russian Academy of Science Alexander Rumyantsev has already arrived in Beijing, the ministry informed. Apart from the work in the subcommittee, he intends to meet chairman of the committee for defense science, equipment and industry Liu Dibin and President of the State Nuclear Corporation Li Jifan.
