Tu-154 and Boeing-757 recorders' data can be decoded

The flight recorders' data from a Russian passenger airliner TU-154 and a Boeing 757 cargo plane that crashed over Germany on the 2nd of July "can be decoded", said the head of the flight recorders laboratory at the German Air Accident Investigation Axel Thiel.

Investigators are to "put the data together and synchronise them" in order to establish "the flight's critical phase", Thiel said. "Although the German Air Accident Investigation has acquired the first results, they will be made public only after the crash cause is determined," he pointed.

"It will take some time because first we must have the conversation between the Russian pilots translated," the expert stressed.

"Two minutes before the collision between the Russian passenger airliner and the Boeing over Bodensee, the Center for Flights Security in Karlsruhe /southwestern Germany/ "tried to get in touch with their Swiss colleagues on the phone but without success".
