South Korean businessman murdered in Kyrgyzstan

In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, unknown persons murdered a South Korean businessman by the name of Pak Yong Bok, reported the republic's interior ministry on Monday.

Law enforcers said the foreigner had been shot dead on Sunday morning at the entrance to an elite apartment building in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek, where he had been renting an apartment. According to preliminary information, he was shot with a Makarov pistol.

The Bishkek Interior Department has set up a special group of its best experts to investigate the murder. The main version is that it was a contract killing connected somehow with the South Korean businessman's commercial activity.

It was the second murder of a foreigner in Kyrgyzstan over the past 10 days. On June 29, a TT pistol was used to shoot down a first secretary of the Chinese embassy to Kyrgyzstan. The murderers had been tracked down almost immediately.
